Introduction to web sites.

1. Prepare a plan, the plan should include, a layout of each page, the navigation (how do your visitors get from page to page?), image layout, and any text. Remember that the first page will be called index.html, I usually draw my layouts on paper.

2. Preparation:~prepare your images by reformatting them for the web, the smaller the file size, the quicker they will load, the more likely people are to stay and look at your page. either .jpg or .gif and at 75dpi resolution. ~prepare any heading graphics or logos. (as above) ~prepare your text, best to save your text as a .txt the text transfers cleaner.

3. Layout your tables

4. Arrange your content

5. Preview

6. Upload the files (publish your work)

7. Test the page

8. Make any necessary adjustments

9. Get some friends to check that the page works on their machines, and test on other pc's.

10. If applicable, submit your url to search engines, have other people link to your page, and give reciprical links to others.
